Commodore 64 Emulation Video Tutorial for PC Windows

Just to make sure there are no excuses out there to not install an emulator and run games for folks who visit the C64Walkabout, I made a video tutorial that's under 8 minutes on how to download and set up VICE, and download, load up and run some game files with nothing more than a simple Windows environment and an internet connection.

I've added a few tips on associating files with VICE, and have covered some of the basic options in VICE as well.

My only regret about the vid is making it late at night so my voice is a little more hushed than it would normally be.  Oh, and that there isn't a bit more clarity to the YouTube upload and the way it posts here even smaller - but that's to be expected given I was showing my full desktop.  To watch a larger-sized version of the video, click HERE.

Anyway, check it out and leave your comments!

    Hi Robinson Mason
    Great Video Tutorial.
I'm a newbie to C64 Emulation due to exposure to Cloanto's C64 Forever. I also have Amiga Forever 2008 (been using Amigas it since 2003), but also wanted to explore other Commodore machines through emulation. Omg! theres alot to catchup on C64 and its family of machines. tons of games and apps. I've been playing around with GEOS recently and it works. Great podcasts! I have a wishlist.

Can you do a podcast on Cloanto's C64 Forever (c64forever.com) and also a podcast on GEOS. Whenever you have the time.

    Hey Timmy,

I'm checking out C64 Forever (looks neat), and I think doing a podcast on GEOS would be good, too.  I'm also curious about finding a site that archives non-games --- a sort of GB64.com of the application world for the C64.   All are great topic ideas for my next podcast, thanks for the feedback!
